You know how I leave things to the last minute? Well I said over breakast to Natalie "Don't worry about the time - we'll make the flight. Have another cup of tea." There was my error really. If only I'd left a little earlier then I wouldn't have been so stressed when our tyre exploded on the hire car on the way to Cape Town airport. Natalie did warn me about the big pavement drop when I drove away from the hostel. And I did hear a noise that sounded like I hit the underneath of the car. So as I'm speeding along the motorway the car seems to be moving all over the place. You should have seen the tyre when we changed it! I'd been driving for at least 10 minutes on a blown tyre and it was shred to pieces. I say 'we' changed it but we asked someone in a winery down the road to help... I'll know next time.
We did eventually make it to the airport and had a 10-hour movie-a-thon on the flight. Natalie was very excited by the aeroplane food.
We're staying in a fantastic hostel in the centre of Buenos Aires - Lime Hostel. Free internet, free breakfast, pool table plus towels. Could make better use of the bar open til 4am but our siestas always seem to take too long and we end up asleep until 6am every day. Can't shake the routine of the last 6 weeks.
