Day 5 - we are one-third through the trip, and today was even more amazing than any day so far. It started with a chilly but beautiful run through the mountains leading to Helena, Montana. The scenery was amazing, if not for the haze from recent fires, but the highway through the mountains was even more amazing. Turn after turn, beautiful views and challenging riding made an unbeatable combination.
Once we got off the highway and into the countryside, we started catching glimpses of our destination in the distance while we rode through beautiful cattle country, even having to stop once when a small herd of wild horses crossed the road. When we finally reached the park, the view blew all of us away. The size and majesty of the mountains spoke volumes of the forces exerted by the glaciers. The pictures and video I'll eventually post will not do justice to what we experienced firsthand. If you ever have any chance to go, take it. I know I'll be going back some day to spend time exploring.
Tomorrow will be a bit less exciting - most of the day will be spent heading for the coast. We have set up camp and it's time to get ready to turn in.
