Fiji was really chilled, we didnt do that much other than chill out in the sun, and play rugby with the locals, which was unbelievable. i have never sweated so much in my life! i also won a crab racing competition and got 30 dollars :) we went snorkelling and checked out the local coral. we also danced naked in a ridiculous tropical storm which was really good fun! All in all it was a really nice break to prepare us for a mental few weeks in Aus!
The highlight of Fiji was our reuniting with a certain individual we met in New Zealand. His name is Nash and his status is legendary! he is known to be the quickest traveller around and when we asked whether it possible to catch him in New Zealand, we were greeted with the same answer, "you will never catch Nash, he's a quick traveller" Our hope of seeing Nash slowly withered but the legend of Nash lived on! We sat in the bar on our island in fiji expecting just another night when suddenly there was a gust of wind and some sand picked up and flicked across the room. we fixed our gaze and to our amazement, it was Nash. He had finally slowed down, to recharge from his quick travelling. Fate had it that it should be us to witness this miracle. Bystanders likened the scene to Jesus' second coming. I would agree... We joined Nash for a drink before once again he set off on his travels. His mysticism and seclusiveness remain a marvel to us and we will once again, spread the legend of Nash to all those we meet. Nash, the fastest traveller, he will never get caught!
Our journey to the airport for sydney was probably one of the most outrageous journies in my life! it started when our ferry was late for pick up from the island so we paid a fisherman to get us to mainland. we got to mainland and ran to the nearest taxi driver and told him to get us to the airport as quick as he could. this drive turned into what was the scariest drive of my life! the driver drove on the wrong side of the road, took over on the wrong side of the road and forced cars to pull over so we wouldnt get smashed by oncoming traffic! sam was terrified and holding me harder than ive ever been held! we made it to the airport, somehow only to find that our flight had been cancelled over a month ago and we had never received the email!!! our initial anger was completely overturned when we were escorted to a 4 star hotel a few minutes from the airport where we were given all you can eat buffet, double beds and sky television!!! we were very happy. the next day we flew to sydney in fine spirits and ready for aus, take 2!
