The Chocolate Hills
By: Mallory Griffith
Legend says, a young girl named Aluya, was kidnapped by a giant named Arogo, who when he first saw her instantly fell in love with her. She was very frightened by the large giant, she cried and cried. When she died of sadness, Arogo was so sad he cried and his giant teardrops created the Chocolate Hills. We got to see the amazing Chocolate Hills and it was such a site! They were so beautiful, and peculiar. The Chocolate Hills are all the same height and they look like Hershey kisses. In total there are 1,268 hills. In Bohol, the place where the hills are, The Chocolate Hills are the 3rd National Monument in the Philippines. When you climb to the top to look at the view, there is a wishing well, you make a wish and ring a bell. The Chocolate hills are a wonderful place to visit in the Philippines. It was a great experience!
