Christmas Markets, Santa and the Northern Lights
Challenge was how to make sure we didn't miss any of the games whilst on tour ourselves....
1st half - Aust V Lions in Brisbane...
Tracked down the Gael Irish pub in Kyoto - hard to find but were televising the game served bangers and mash, shepards pie and sapporro beers !!!
2nd half - SOO 2 & 3rd half - Aust V Lions in Melbourne - these games were watched and celebrated wins at Legends Sports Bar in Tokyo - www.legendsports.jp/
Plenty of ex-pats here in thier jerseys of choice for both games....the Lions match had the bar particularlly full, many supporting the foe but in the end we prevailed with the cry of aussie, aussie, aussie whilst going down on one knee with James then we wiped the brow, stood and necked the sapporro in hand...a great night in Tokyo
Also I can recommend the Legends burger and pizzas - they were great....
Football Footnote...
We were walking around Roppongi near the Gaiemmae metro station and went into a Dean & Delluca coffee shop for lunch and coming in through other door was Eddie Jones!!! (there are 20m people in Toyko...)
I introduced myself (very cool) , shook his hand and asked why he'd tipped the Lions by four in last Saturday's Courier Mail, Eddie seemed a bit taken aback by my knowledge of the game and his column but he explained his reasoning....so to my next question - what was his tip for the Syndey test ? he said the wallabies had the momentum now and had found a way to win the Melbourne test and his tip was the wallabies by 6!!!!
Remember you heard it here first..............
