5:30am - Nadi Airport Fiji after a 12hour flight.
Bula!
It's 5am and the sweet sound of ukulele plays as I enter the terminal.
A band of Fijians in sarongs (with the dirtiest of smiles) greet every passenger in the arrivals lounge. Bula Bula Bula!
Wow, what a way to greet people, so welcoming :)
(Certainly beats the rear end off the arrival lounge at Bournemouth Airport!)
It's crazy that 12 hours ago I was on another continent and now I'm in the South Pacific.
During the flight I became two days older as we crossed the international date line. (FML I'm already close enough to 30 as it is!)
The sound of the crickets dominated the taxi ride as I got checked in and ordered some Brekky.
A big blue sky without a cloud, a tiny boat on the horizon bobbing up and down, a rustle of a palm tree and a sandy beach were just some of the views I got whilst stuffing my face with pineapple and toast.
This really is paradise.
Then Ratafu put one of his hairy nuts in my hand and asked me to try..
Damn. His nuts taste soo good!
(He's the local activities guy and he's just handed me a coconut to drink.)

I've booked onto the Yasawa islands "ultimate Lei" adventure...
||>| pause..
("Ultimate lei? Or lay? As in laying on a beach I guess...?)
I've opted for Manta ray island, Safelanding island and Barefoot island as part of the package.
7days of snorkelling chilling and maybe a few Shandys with some fellow backpackers.
Can't wait to swim with some sharks and see some nemos!!
(On another note, I saw my first cockroach this morning. Fast little f*ckers! It shot under the bathroom sink.. Original.)
