It's deer o'clock.
So today I went to Wayoma with Valle, Jim and Christian to explore the home of the giant sequoias.
It's so peaceful here, the silence is almost eery, not even the wind dares to bother this ancient place.
The odd woodpecker breaks the silence bent on hammering the bark in search of a treat.
It's a very tranquil place.
The trunks are at least the size of a bus wide and seem to go on forever high up over head towering up like a forest of gentle giants.
You get this strange feeling that they talk with a very deep voice having been here for thousands of years, full of wisdom, knowledge and power, far superior to anything walking beneath them.
As we explored the trail a rustle in the foliage broke the silence and a family of deers meanders into our path.
We got within inches of them.
I perched down, carefully lining up my nikon crosshair, to blast a few shots of one of them looking directly at me. Pretty good picture, I'll upload it for you to see.
Today was more of a chill out day as were still pretty tired from our 8mile hike yesterday. After about 3hours we start to head back as christian has a bus to catch to Sacramento.
Jim told me about a place called Bodie town where we're heading to tomorrow. It's an 1850's ghost town set up in the era of the gold rush, a place where untold evil, greed and lust occurred on a daily basis. It looks a very creepy place, lying in a state of decay, derelict and abandoned in the middle of nowhere, tumbleweeds it's only residents.
"Heeeeeeyy boyyyyyy!"
Until tomorrow..
