Today was a lovely, mellow day in summer. I have really enjoyed my summer holidays so far and I'm feeling much more productive than usual due to my trips to Grantchester.
Sadly, today I saw some diseased ash trees which is a real shame as they are such strong, sturdy trees in their prime.
I chose to do a bit of a deeper dive into the wildlife today and I spent a lot of time on my hands and knees, focusing closely on the smaller organisms. It is truly amazing how rich in biodiversity one field can be. Zooming in really changed my perspective on how biodiverse Grantchester really is as I spotted so much more than usual. I found bracket funguses, holes in tree trunks from boring beetles, and larvae under a tree trunk.
I always find my trips to Grantchester so enriching and today was no exception. I look forward to my next excursion!
