Today the weather was much worse! There was intermittent rain and hail with strong, gusty winds. Many of the trees had new buds or flowers - the blackthorn was blooming! Today was certainly different from the last two! Grantchester was very muddy due to the wet weather recently, practically a swamp in some areas. My shoes are all muddy but my mind is fresh and clear from a gorgeous time outdoors. Today was a lovely, mellow day in summer. I have really enjoyed my summer holidays so far and I'm feeling much more productive than usual due to my trips to Grantchester. Sadly, today I saw some diseased ash trees which is a real shame as they are such strong, sturdy trees in their prime. Today my dad and I spent our first day at Grantchester as part of my John Muir Award. The weather was fabulous, warm yet fresh. It has been a joy to be able to escape lockdown at home, especially in such a beautiful location. This sentiment is clearly shared by the the other people enjoying Grantchester!
