Hi Guys
We are now in Santa Rosa after camping for three nights, with no rain! It has made such a big difference.
Our first night in the Redwood Forest was amazing, being surrounded by 2000 year old trees.
Next was Vandam beach campsite just outside Mendocino where they filmed 'Murder she wrote'. But no murder occurred whilst we were visiting, luckily. We went for a 5k run along a river. Lindsey has entered us in a 10k run in Santa Cruz on Sunday. I agreed to do it with her...mainly because you get a free t-shirt!!
The last night camping was the most interesting, we were just outside of Santa Rosa, in a campsite called Spring lake. The campsite was nice, but we were warned about the spiders, skunks and mountain lions. Everyone goes to bed early (sun down, 9pm) so we are always the only ones up. After sitting up all night listening to the skunks making lots of noise, I showed Lindsey a spider by the toilets, which was a mistake. So she was thinking about bugs, skunks and mountain lions all night and refused to go to the toilets on her own after that.
In the morning we went to look at the lake, it was just like Earlswood lakes with lots of dog walkers and runners. Henry and Harriet would have loved it.

We Stayed in the Grand hotel the night after our wine tour. Very much needed after camping and after a long day of wine tasting! We are not very good at backpacking on a budget.
On the wine tour we went to four wineries. We had an unforgettable day sampling lots of different exceptional wines and laughing a lot with a great group of people.
Then we went to dinner in an Italian restaurant recommended to us, called the Rivera. The food was great and you could take you own wine so we did. Not that we needed to drink or eat anymore! We were stuffed afterwards. Good job it was a long walk home.
Next stop, San Francisco.
Can't wait, speak soon.
