Left rotorua today and headed for Whakatane, where we were doing a day trip to White Island. White Island is New Zealands only active marine volcano. Jeez oh I was a little bit scared going onto a real volcano! We got on boat and made our way there, which took about 80 minutes. On the way over we had some soup and got some history on the island. Today we got up really early as Greg had told us about this peak to go to and we should try get there for sunrise as it was amazing! So we left the campsite about 6.15am (yyyyaaaawwwwnnnn) and made our way to te mata peak. Spent the morning in the campsite today just catching up on washing and chilling out, then walked down to the front at Napier. The boys stopped along the way to buy a rugby ball to play at the beach, then we got to the beach and it was stone instead of sand so they weren't too impressed and played on the grass!
