MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
woke up this morning to sunshine and light, which is unusual for christmas! Opened all our parcels and gifts from back home which were awesome, so good to have! Graemes mum sent us a stocking with lots of chocolate so we munched our way through that! then watched our xmas dvd that my sistas sent, which was the best thing i have ever seen! so thanks to everyone involved, it was great to see everyone and made me shed a few tears but laugh as well! chilled out for the morning!
left to go to cathedral cove, a lovely beach, about midday. took about an hour to get there and we got to the carpark and it was absolutly hoaching! the busiest ive seen it and the sun was shining in the sky, it was perfect! so we made our way to the beach, which is about a 40 minute walk and the beach was just as busy! boys playing rugby, kids swimming it was so different from home! spent about 4 hours on the beach, reading, sleeping, playing catch, sunbathing and paddling! we were getting a bit burnt (ok we were red raw) about 4pm so we decided to head home! our chocolate breakfast wasnt quite substantial enough for the walk back, i was feeling too warm and a tad lightheaded! but made it home!
then we read that the turkey would take 2 hours - man we were starving so had some spring rolls then took our xmas photos and waited on turkey! they have ham over here at xmas but we managed to find some turkey, but no chipolatas! ragin! so had turkey and roasted veg then pavlova! was sooo yummy! chilled, phoned home and rubbed after sun into our burnt bodies!
had a great day altho missed family and friends! was great to do something different and relax at the beach! although we forgot how strong the sun is over here, mustve been at least 26 degrees and we certainly have learnt the hard way about putting sun tan lotion on more frequently!
