Graeme round the world
Day 53 Tues 16th May - Up at 5am to catch the Oz Experience Bus. Really friendly bunch of people mostly gap year or post Uni. Our guide who calls himself Gwido is crazy and blasts the music out load and makes jokes all the time :o) Arrive at Barrington River Lodge for my first taste of dorm life. I was bottom bunk on the 3 storey bunk bed in a six person mixed dorm, so a complete contrast from the Sydney hotel, but great fun :o) It was stunning scenery and saw my first wild Kangaroo. In an action packed afternoon we did horse riding and managed a little canter/gallop when Jill's horse took off so did mine, this one had it's man trimmed so had to hand onto the saddle for a fun ride. Then did some unbelievable mountain biking through the narrow, winding, rocky and sometimes very steep mountain tracks, especially at the end it was almost dark!...............I was so out of my comfort zone I could have been in a different continent, can't believed I survived, but Josh and Camilo had a good wreck each and Gwido was a totally nutter.........so after that how could the guys running the camp top that???????? ....well how about white water kayaking at night down grade 3 rapids.........in the dark!!!! We put on our wet suits helmets and head torches and off we went. It was crazy fun and managed to capsize 3 times. We all jumped into the hot tub for 3 hours and it was a camp rule you a to drink whilst you were in there, so had no problem sleeping very soundly in my bunk :o)
