Graeme round the world
Day 85 - Sat 17th June - Had a brilliant time last night in the tooktook driving in the chaos of Jaipur. Went back to the hotel for dinner and I was the only one eating outside in the courtyard with a group of three musicians and a father and son singing and dancing, so I felt very regal sitting in the middle of the courtyard under the starts having my own private concert. I thought it was a good champagne moment and was thinking I would be drinking on my own when two lovely Italan women, Antonella & Silvia, arrived and I invited them to join me :o) We ended up drinking 2 bottles of bubbly and chatting about our adventures in India and our travels until midnight, so a great way to end the day. Up at 7am for breakfast on the terrace and then 280km drive from Jaipur to Agra, seeing camels and goat herds along the way. Visited Fatehpur Sikri, a magnificant 16th century city built out of red sandstone and now have just arrived at my hotel and my room has a lovely view of the Taj Mahal, which I will visit at 5.45am for sunrise. The hotel greets you with a drink and a flower garland and I'm off now for a massage, before going out to town for dinner with Vijay. Really looking forward to see the Taj Mahal tomorrow :o))))))))))))
