Day 3 My Birthday - Thanks to everyone for their messages and calls, even the one at 5.45am, by the person who miscalculated the time difference, not to mention any names, you know who you are ;o) Ran along the beachfront and then walked in the cool surf before breakfast, then off to Corcavado, the Christ Statue, which was awesome and stunning 360 degree views. They were filming a Bollywood movie and I asked if I could have my pic taken with the leading lady..........well it was my birthday :o)

We stopped off at a beautiful beach with waves crashing in spectacular fashion and hang gliders landing, so I decided to have a go. My pilot was Chico 8 x Brazilian champion and the adventure began in the drive up the mountain in his beach buggy as he over took everything at full speed regardless of bends or whatever was coming the other way, I loved it :o) I'd had a couple of tequila's in the beach bar to steady the nerves and had Led Zeppelin ready on the iPod, but that wooden ramp off the edge at 1700ft didn't look that inviting now.

We started our sprint to the edge well enough, but about 2 metres from the edge my legs wanted to go in reverse and I let out an involuntary 'Noooooooooooooooooooo'' but it was way past the point of no return and over the edge we went, from that moment onwards it was amazing and one of the best things I have ever done. Not sure what happen in the afternoon as I was on such an adrenalin high, but remember having a massage and the beach front restaurant where I had dinner very kindly made me a little cake with a candle on it out of ice cream, so a totally fab day :o))))))))
