Today, On the way to dropping Cam off at the San Jose Airport, we saw a little brown Chihuahua dog running across the road. We finally convinced Ed to turn around and rescue it. She just laid right down and let Cam grab her. This is when we found out she recently had puppies. Once we got her into the car Cam, Heather and I took turns holding her. About halfway to San Jose, Cam said " her name is Hope." So that's what we called her. When we arrived at San Jose we had some time to do a little bit of shopping before Cam’s flight. I held Hope while we had lunch afterwards we put her in Heather’s purse and just passed her around. She was quite calm and that was very nice. We contacted the San Jose Humane Society, which were full. Finally, Ed and I took her to the Humane Society in Cabo San Lucas. At Humane Society they put her in the kennel, I started to tear up. I started petting her until the guy told me I can’t stand that close to the new rescued quarantined kennels. When I walked away, Hope started barking and then I almost cried so the guy let me pet her. When I did she stopped barking, I started to cry more. We asked the people if they could just run tests and if they don’t hear back from us to put her up for adoption. Once we are in Cabo we will check on her. Also, Ed is going to volunteer to do some neutering and spaying for the Humane Society.
Is there anyone that wants to adopt a dog or by chance know someone who does?
After we came back to San Jose, Cam and Heather preformed a little ceremony. We each received a friendship bracelet. They also gave me worry dolls, from a Guatemala legend. It was very special.
When we walked Cam into the airport, we all started to tear up a bit. Personally, it has been many years since we have spent quality time together. It was nice to have a big sister.
When we got back, Heather, Nancy, and Ed took me to the pool at the hotel Buena Vista. We played there for a bit. Heather went for run and hurt her leg, which isn’t good.
For dinner, Nancy and Fran treated us out to dinner at La Casita. It was really tasty, especially the Avocado ice cream and truffles.
