3 weeks in and my calves have almost doubled in size. Not a gym goer, I can only imagine it's like doing a solid 24 hours, no rest, pushing your muscles to a near unbearable breaking point. Or maybe it just represents my fitness level... yeah, it's probably that.
First stop- BANGKOK
Heavy traffic and a busy city to say the least. Banyan Tree Hotel was a beauty, and such a lovely experience that couldn't be faulted. Treated like royalty from the moment we arrived, this hotel has it spot on.
This city is huge, and a TukTuk is the best way around. Priced cheaply, it's a perfect little get around. A temple on every corner, yet buildings built up like Tokyo, this city is far from the norm.
There's lots to do here in the day, and a lot to see. We did quite a lot despite the lack of length of time here. The first day we arrived, we spent 3 hours searching for Laduree. That took up abit of time, especially to find just a stall of macaroons, not an actual cafe, much to Scott's dismay.
A chance at luxury, we ate on their 360 degree roof top restaurant, 64 floors up. This was incredible, as well as the view of the lit up city. We headed to The Dome rooftop bar filmed in The Hangover. Drinks of the name 'Hangovertini', they sure are embracing it. Views of the city here are class as well as the atmosphere.
One extreme to the other, the next night we spent out on Khoa San Road. A busy market road full of bars and street stalls. All of what you have heard of Thailand will be surrounded by Khoa San Road. Ladybodys, scorpions, ping pong shows, tasers, drunken tattoos, and so-called tailors to names a few.
