Next stop- KRABI
Ao Nang is definitely the best place to stop in Krabi. Here's the first we'd seen of a beach, with a main road leading down to it consisting of busy bars, restaurants, shops and guest houses. We stopped at Baan Puloon and Lanna Beach. Both decent, and Baan Puloon let you hire scooters too, so we got around that way. It was definitely the best idea too. It cost about £4 a day to rent, with petrol filing up the tank at about £3. It's nuts.
There's lots to do in the day here. Krabi plays host to one of the highest Buddhas, 1237 steps up a mountain. I say steps, most were so high you were crawling on your hands and knees. It's called Tiger Cave Temple, and has some amazing views, that you soon forget what torture you have just undergone.
The first waterfall we'd been to, and the best one yet, was at Khoa Phanom Bencha National Park. It flowed for ages so took a while to get up, but was well worth it.
Having the scooter we were able to travel to the Hot Springs in Klong Thom. An 80km journey. Not ideal on a scooter, but well worth it. The natural waterfall temperature is 40-50 degrees. It was like having a bath... just with some strangers.
The amount of Island excursions from Ao Nang is endless. We went to Phra Nang Cave Beach which is one of the nicest beaches we've seen. This place is a rock climbers paradise.
