After our first night after arriving we were ready to take on Bangkok!
We set off with our back packs - and a very friendly 'journalist' wanted to help us by putting us in a tuk tuk to take us God KnowsWhere! We politely refused and carried on looking for our own tuk tuk.
We managed to get to the other side of town quite easily, and started looking for a hostel. This time a friendly solicitor wanted to help us, and made us walk 10 minutes away from all the hostels, promising he knew where he was going! Well, we'd had enough by now and left him!
We found the Green House Hotel near Koa San Road and spent the rest of the day wandering around.
Thursday was our big sight seeing day. We went to the Grand palace to see the Emerald Buddah. the place was amazing. Everything was mirror mozaics which looked lovely, but kinda blinded us a little bit.
Then we set off for the Reclining Buddah. He is a giant! He is 46m long by 16m high. There were lots of other temples here which we looked in, all containing buddahs that people can pray too.
that night we went to watch the Muay Thai boxing. We got the cheap seats right at the back amongst all the locals. The boxing was interesting to watch, but so were the thais we were sitting with. They all started waving their hands and shouting at each other. It took a while for us to work out that they were betting with each other.
the boxing finished late, so we headed back to the hostel ready to catch an early bus to Kanchanburi in the morning.
