Here we go...

Welcome to my travel blog friends! In exactly one week I will be arriving in Bangkok to begin my 6 month Asian/African adventure (!!!)

I am so excited to leave and with only two days left at work I can almost taste the freedom. However, along with the excitement comes the stress, panic and nerves, which i am putting down to the countless dreams I've had where my trip gets screwed up. My personal favourite was the one where all I packed was belts. Just call me Jodie Marsh.

The girls I am travelling with are already out in Oz, so whilst they are looking like absolute bronzed babes, I get to rock up with my practically see through skin which just loves to burn. Oh, and did I mention, the malaria tablets I am taking make you more sensitive to the sun. HELLO BEETROOT. Seriously though, I burn when it is 15 degrees.

I'm really not sure what to expect with this trip. I know it is going to be difficult to leave my loved ones behind (cue hysterical tears) but I also know that everything I am going to experience and learn will outweigh any downsides. Living out of a 65 litre backpack will take some getting used to, I'm going to have to just embrace being dirty, smelly and covered in factor 50.

Here's the basic plan:

Thailand - 6th Feb-7th March

India - 7th March-23rd April

Africa - 23rd April-6th August

Dubai - 6th August-9th August

And I'm back just in time for my 23rd (cry) birthday.

I still can't quite believe that I get to visit all of these amazing places with some of my favourite people in the world (see photo). I'll try my best to keep you posted :)
