Had a fantastic time in Buenos Aires, made it out nealry every night, sampled all the nightlife available (including Pacha where the current trend in Argentina appears to be wearing sunglasses in a pich black club, cool?!!!). We went for a tango lesson and show which was great fun although unfortunately there were no sexy dancers in our class, just loads of old fogies who kept treading on our toes. Of course we were the stars of the class!!! At the weekend...

We are now happily in Buenos Aires where Sarah is in absolute heaven because of the dulche de leche cakes and lemon meringue pie on offer. We have only had the opportunity to sample 2 coffee shops so far, including one of the most famous coffee shops in argentina (where we were asked out by the waiters who were wearing tuxes to our great amusement....god knows how we attracted them in our travelling attire of joggers!) Good morning from Rio in Brazil!! We arrived in Rio on Sunday and met up with Jen, Fi and Amy in our hostel in Ipanema. Rio has an amazing atmosphere and the beaches and scenery are stunning, as are the men! Seriously, if any of the spinsters are reading this, this is the place to come to find ourselves a fit, toned, bronzed, brazilian god! They do, however, seem to have a tendency to wear skimpy speedos on the beach but you can forgive them for this! ...

We left Chile on Tuesday, ready for our relatively short bus trip (11 hours) across the border to Salta in Argentina. Everything seemed to be fine until about 9 hours into the journey the bus stopped. In the middle of nowhere. The driver stuck his head into the bus and informed us that the locals were blocking the road with rubble and weren't letting any vehicles through at all and that we would have to spend the night asleep on the bus. We were not impressed...

We have now returned from our 3 day trip to the salt flats in the South of Bolivia and have crossed the border into the North of Chile, where finally we are warm!! The salt flats were really impressive and the view from Catus Island was fantastic. Unfortunately sarah left her USB cable in La Paz so the photos won't be up for a few days.
