This morning started well when the zip broke on my case. Still, rather at home than on our travels. A quick transfer into a bigger case and we were ready. The first leg of our journey is completed. I know we haven't yet left the country but it still counts. As we are flying out of Heathrow early tomorrow, we are spending the day with Charlotte and Roger. We arrived at about 1.00pm, having made good progress right up until we were due to leave the A21 for Biggin Hill. An accident brought the traffic to a standstill, so close yet so far.
We enjoyed a delicious lunch and sat in the garden soaking up as much sunshine as possible. Our top temperature in Anchorage tomorrow will be 13c.
Got a bit stressed when I tried to check in online because I couldn't find the reference number I needed. Finally managed to complete all the details for us both only to be told that I couldn't check in as we didn't have a return flight. Well, that would be because we are flying back from another country on a different airline, we can't be the first! So, we're not checked in but at least they had our details registered with the airline.
San Francisco airport was closed yesterday after a plane crash-landed but according to the United Airlines web site, we are on schedule for tomorrow.
Looking forward to a relaxing evening so we awake bright-eyed and bushy-tailed to brave the M25 on a Monday morning.
