Eugenia provided us with a lovely breakfast this morning, we met a couple from Israel that are staying here and going through the process of immigrating to Canada. After breakfast we walked the river walk into town which took us to an area called The Forks, it sits at the junction of the Red and Assiniboine rivers, it's a newer area with lots of shops and restaurants. We had a Java stop then checked out Manitoba Tourism to get the lay of the land. We had a very nice lunch at the Current in the Hotel at the Forks then jumped on the free city bus and went to the art gallery where we took in the Norman Rockwell exhibit, it was really great and Winnipeg was the only Canadian stop on its tour. Next we went to a local cafe called Stella's (great latte) then off to the Manitoba Hydro building and a restaurant called Rudy's, the food was good and we watched part of a hockey game and walking home. Tea and cookies awaited us and went to bed with a good old prairie thunder and lightning storm...
