My Last night in this amazing city of romance. This night was my favorite night. I was able to get a driving night tour of Rome. I was promised a true italian night which meant of course. Food, wine, and partying:) The restaurant tonight was called La Capiccosa. It was right in the heart of the Piazza Del Popolo. I kid u not the owner looked exactly like the old man in the Sapranos with the thick black framed glasses. He had the low raspy voice. This alone made my night. I kept thinking of my brothers and their obsession with the Italian mafia movies and sitcoms. This place was so freaking Italian. It was these real typical men. Not a female in sight working which was interesting. So the meal started off with tons of breads and thin breadsticks. The olive oil was mouth watering. A bottle of delicious Italian red wine. Dish one. Was fettucino funghi-Pasta and mushrooms in a creamy sauce. Omg!!!! The pasta literally was just made. U could Taste the freshness. Then my favorite was spaghetti carbonada. I will learn how to make this. It was so good!!!!! Then dish two. Some rediculously good beef dish in a wine sauce and then meatballs. Everything tasted so different. I go to tons of Italian restaurants and nothing has ever compared to this. After these four dishes it was followed by ice cold lemoncello. This meal took about 3 hours. You eat slowly. You sip wine. You enjoy every single bite. All of this and then u have performers all around you singing beautiful italian songs. The owner and the server made sure To check on our table constantly.brought me samples of other food. Forlenzo said this restaurant would leave me with an excellent taste of Italy. They are known for their pasta which is part of my weekly diet lol. It was phenomenal!! After the dinner our group walked around the piazza completely tipsy. Saw the colosseum at night. Basilicas lite up with candles outside. I can't handle this place lol... I was a little kid walking around with a huge smile on my face!!!!!! To top the night off after walking and more sight seeing my new friend asked if I would like to drive. I Glennda Hernandez drove like I owned the streets of italy. I was so proud of myself. Mind u they barely follow the stop lights but I felt daring. I drove a mini car, stick shift, and damn confident up and down the streets of Italy. Once I arrived to my hotel it was already 2am and I didn't want to sleep since I was leaving in 3 hours. The concierge and my new Friends cracked open a bottle of wine in the lobby and we drank to being new friends and hopes for another visit. I couldn't of asked for a more perfect trip. This really is something to remember and I am so proud of myself. I hope this is just the beginning of my travels to amazing countries like Italy!!!!!
