Florence, the American invaders and Moto GP 1
We've decided that Italy has been invaded by America, and they've sent their fattest troops with their biggest cameras and biggest hats to Florence. If that didn't make them easy enough to spot, they walk round in pairs, one pair after another in a long lines following Italian tour guides with flags. Not only that, but each American has a matching sticker and lanyard in case they get separated from their group - goodness knows what would happen if they ever had to fend for themselves. Apart from that Florence is very beautiful with lots of big churches and lots of sunshine.
After a walk around Florence in the morning, we got on the bike and headed for Mugello to watch Moto GP qualifying. It was a good move, in terms of testing where to park, as our initial stop was at the wrong end of the circuit. Glenn failed to sweet-talk a gorgeous Italian steward who insisted that we had to walk 4km to the other side of the circuit and find our proper seats, so we returned to the bike and rode around the perimeter until we got to the right place. And what a fantastic view we had! Right opposite the start/finish line and a bird's eye view of the pit lane. It was a great taster for tomorrow's race and we're really looking forward to seeing it all then. Look out for us on the telly!
