We arrived in Perth on Friday 6th January and found Martin and Sophie's Flat fairly easily. Sophie came out to meet us and we headed up to have a look at there great flat which was right in the centre of Perth. Martin arrived shortly later and we had a nice evening relaxing and catching up on each others adventures since departing in Vietnam. The following day (7th January) we had a lie in then headed round the shops in the car, Martin was so excited as he didn't have a car so hadn't been able to pick up an Ausie BBQ yet. That afternoon we built the BBQ then Martin attached the Gas Tank he had got, he hit the on button and nothing happened…….5 minutes later we realised he had bought an empty tank. We rushed out and got another one then had a yummy BBQ. That evening we headed out to Rockingham for some drinks on the town with Martin, Sophie and some of their friends. We went to a cool bar which did a beer taster tray. The next day (Sunday 8th January) Martin and Sophie took us for a guided tour of Perth CBD, they then headed to the Cricket while me and Rachel had a nice relaxing evening in watching Sharlock Holmes. On the Monday (9th) we headed out to the job shop, we had received texts asking us to pop in asap since we regestered online, however when we got there they said there was nothing available so completely useless. We then headed back to the flat and popped out with Sophie to have lunch in Dome. We had a relaxing afternoon then Rachel and Sophie headed out to Zumba while me and Martin made Curry. The girls arrived back an hour later, after thinking wow that was the shortest zumba lesson ever since they had to get a train which took 20 minutes each way, they explained that it had been cancelled so we had an evening enjoying curry. Tuesday the 10th January we went to Martin and Sophies gym in the morning and had a good workout. Then we had a long walk in the sweltering heat through town over the bridge and into south Perth. We then headed back and headed to the park for a bbq with Martin and Sophies friends, when we arrived there was a queue to use the BBQ's and since there was only 2 there and one group had been there for 5 hours and was still cooking we left and went to one of the friends houses for BBQ instead. After filling our bellys and chatting the night away we headed back to the flat. On Wednesday we headed out to a boat harbour called the Hillary's for a wonder around. We went into a Burger Bar and got some delicious chips covered in salt and pepper seasoning. We then relaxed on the grass area to enjoy the sun for a while before heading back. Rachel and Sophie then headed out again to see if zumba was on, I'm sure they were just saying it again to get me and Martin to cook them dinner. They arrived back a few hours later successful this time and ready to enjoy the lovely dinner me and Martin had cooked. The next day (Thursday 12th) we went round with Martin and Sophie for a bit while they were getting stressed trying to sort there Australian driving license out. Then we headed over to Freemantle to look round the jail and grab some dinner in Dome before heading back and popping to the cinema to see Sharlock Holmes 2. Friday was a very lazy day lounging around before going for a short walk into town to grab some food for dinner. I then decided that I had been too lazy and headed to the gym for a workout and then on to the pool for a couple of lengths………. The girls choose a different route and decided to exercise there arms by lifting wine glasses……..I hadn't realised this had been an option until after getting back from my workout session. We were going to head out into town for some drinks but the wine kept flowing that evening and before we knew it it was late so we just had a night in drinking and chatting and watching tv. On the Saturday we headed back to Hillary's and after getting lost found Tony who took us out on his sailing boat for the morning. It was lovely sailing along the coast, then a couple of dolphins came alongside and swam next to the boat for a while. When we got back to shore we left Tony for a bit, while he finished the sailing lesson and we grabbed a subway and some more yummy chips from the harbour place. We then headed to some dolphin statues and looked like wally's as we put a sunhat on it and took a photo for one of our photo requests. After being laughed at we headed back to the boat which Tony was washing down and then on to Tony's place, where we met his dog which was excusted by the heat so didn't jump up on us, just sat next to Rachel licking her feet…….. very brave dog. Tony persuaded us that the drive up to Monkey Mia would be insane due to how hot it was and since it was cyclone season. He said we would be far better heading down to Margaret River where we could stay in his holiday home for the week. We hummed and harred between the difficult decision of driving for hours and hours and camping or driving for a couple of hours and staying in a nice house…..I don't think I need to tell you which option we choose. After a couple of hours chatting and seeing photo's of me mum as a kid we headed back to the flat and had a BBQ with Martin and Sophie. The following day (Sunday 15th) we headed to the beach with Martin and Sophie, where me and Rachel Sunbathed and ate a picnic we had made. Tony then came and met us and gave us the keys to the place in Margaret river along with all the instructions of how to find it and how to switch on the power without blowing the place up. After chatting for a little while he headed off and me and Martin headed into the sea to try some body surfing, the girls decided just to relax and sunbath. I managed to get a good wave but after a while I twisted round and hit my head on the sand floor, thankfully it didn't cause any lasting damage….I don't think. After a few hours we headed back to the flat and had a nice spegattee bolognase before sitting watching the Newcastle vs QPR match, yay 1-0.

Dolphins swimming along side the boat looked wonderful, glad to see that Uncle Anthony is making you work for your keep on the boat! Not sure about you not giving yourself any lasting damage on the sand floor never seen you spell 'spegattee' quite like that before lol But glad it tasted good. Love ya xxx
