We got up and had a great few hours in Coff's Harbour skyping family before heading on to Port Macquarie. When we arrived we pitched the tent in a campsite then went to find the Koala Hospital. There was a free guided walk around the park to look at the Koala's. There was a few outside in the gardens that you could see and watch being fed. These were all recovering Koala's from certain things. The main things Koala's were brought in for were car accidents, dog attacks and infection. There was a couple of Koala's with only 3 legs from accidents but had recovered well and could still climb well. There was a cute one they hadn't worked out what was wrong with him he just sat there really depressed. There was a cute little Joey Koala who had been found when it's mum had died and had homecare. It was very cute, but couldn't be released until it could fend for itself. We watched a few getting fed, then suddenly it started raining, so the tour lady took us undercover and we had to be escorted through the staff only entrance. There were also Koala's inside the hospital in intensive care, which we couldn't see.
Afterwards we went for a potter around the town centre and the shops, getting caught in another rain storm. We headed back to the campsite with our purchases very damp, and got cooking our curry for dinner. There was a tv lounge and games room so we watched a bit of tv and played on a gripper game that picked up chocolate. We managed to win 2 small bars! We then headed back to the tent in the pouring rain, to have a night listening to rain pound the tent.
After a lie in the next morning we packed up our stuff and headed to the tourist info to ask where was good to go on the way to Sydney. We were told to visit Port Stephen, so we headed for there via a lighthouse in Port Macquarie.
