After an hour walking round we finally found a nice little guest house down one of the side streets which met our budget called Star Lodge. We dumped our stuff then headed out to find a bank as we didn't have any Malaysian money. After walking round in circles a few times we finally caved and Rachel asked for directions, of course I didn't need directions, as I knew exactly where I was going. We finally got it and withdrew our Malaysian money which made us feel a lot more safer, as we weren't sure what we were gonna do if someone had tried to mug us, we could only have offered them 50p in Thai money.
We wondered round looking for some grub and incredibly bumped into Lizzy, one of the girls from our tour at the start. We chatted and she advised us of the Red Centre which was an outside food court. We got there and it was amazing so many places to choose from and so many delicious smells. We decided to risk an Indian Curry as all the ones we have had so far have been a disappointment. We grabbed some drinks and sat waiting and listening to people singing on stage for a little while. The curry then came out and it was amazing, so tasty, it had our taste buds tingling. After that we headed back to the guesthouse.
The following day (Thursday 6th) we got up and headed to the Penang Heritage Trust and picked up a free Heritage DIY guide. We then spent the day wondering round Georgetown (the heritage part of Penang) exploring mansions, Chinese temples, mosques, churches, Chinese wooden dock houses, Forts, clock towers, etc, etc. Also around lunchtime we stopped for a ice coffee and I got 2 curry pasties mmmmmm.
This is Rachel now. That evening we decided to go back to the Red Centre again for dinner as it was so good and so cheap. We ummed what to have but in the end went for some more curry mmm!
Graeme ordered a beer, I wanted wine but it was so much compared to weatherspoons back at home so I stuck with a sprite and a dash of Graeme's beer!
