Morning!
Its our third day in Luang and it raining!! Yes i know you'll all be pleased as apparently the weather in England isn't great!
After we got here on tuesday a big group of us went out to dinner, a couple more english people, couple of canadains and us five. The boys, Dave and Guida, then decided to go try out the bowling but Ellis, Gill and i bottled it and went to bed for an early night, decided we'll bowl tomorrow!
The next morning we got up and Gilll and i had a walk around, and booked flights to Han Oi, with the trouble we've heard about people getting over the Vietnam border and the time it was going to take us, we decided to just fly, its not too expensive either, so we go friday afternoon...third country. We're dissapointed we don't get to see the south of Loas but decided we needed to make the sacrifice!
We then had lunch and the five of us headed to a stunning waterfall and swimming pools 30km away by Tuk-tuk, which also had a rescued bear sanctuary and a hand reared tiger. It is truely beautiful here, there's no hassle on you to do things and for the first time really we feel like we have realxed and are in 'holiday mode'. When we got back from the falls, a few of us went out to walk along the night markets and got food off the stalls before we hit 'The Hive" a really funky bar and ...yes went bowling. Its the craziest tihng as nowhere stays open in town after 12midnight, so everyone goes to this out of town bowling alley. About 12 of us played a game, and drank beer and got back about 3am, met loads of great people and today we're feeling a little tired...and Gill a little hungover!!!
But its raining here today, still lovely and warm though. We intend to go and watch the sunset tonight...if it comes out, then dinner and an early one as we want to get up 5ish and go and feed the monks on the main street, they're only allowed to eat food if its charity, and then head to the airport early afternoon.
Life is relaxing here and you could definitely find yourself just staying here for weeks to hoiday, but we're hitting Han Oi tomorrow and think thats going to be a culture shock, back to a bustling city...we'll have to wake up!
Will try and post photos later
Lots of love
Gill and Karen
