Today was a light day of work. There were only 2 bags of cement so I just mixed those...
Then in the afternoon, we went to school to teach & saw some of the kids playing football & everyone else stood around, so we watched some too.
Martin came to Kumasi for the weekend. It took him 8 hours to get here!! We went to see the animals at the zoo....that was an experience! For some reason, you can get really close to the animals. They're behind bars, but you can still get really close, even next to the lion...! The camel was cool too.
We ate out at Vic Baboos for about the 5 & 6th time... we ate there on Saturday (Martin's 22nd) we got surrounded by sellers. This time there was a guy there to harass one of our guys. It wasn't nice. On Martin's birthday we also went to visit Lake Bosomtwe & go on a boat ride. The Lake was created by a volcano. It is very beautiful. Only a few braved the possible risk of getting parasites, I'm so scared of getting them that I didn't, but water looked so warm & lovely.
I stayed in a lovely hostel in Kumasi with Martin & his group & stayed up taking pictures &chatting til 1.30am. Good times.
On Sunday, there was a festival in Achiase. May (host mother) was excited to meet Martin. We were all guests at the festival where a new chief was being appointed. Very beautiful outfits were worn, drums & music & lots of shaking of peoples hands! A lovely weekend! I'll see martin in 2 weeks as we're going to the Volta region. It was lovely to meet up & see him with his friends. They've clearly come together very well as a group, they're all lovely.
