In the 45 degree heat in New Delhi today, the only phrase to sum up the all day tour is #sweaty. However, apart from our dripping bodies, the tour was very interesting and we saw all there was to see in both old and new delhi. We went to the Bharat guide and scout HQ, where we all bought badges. We then found out our tour guide is the actual woman from Taste of India on the Food Network (Hannah, we thought of you) #celebrityfriend
Afte that, we went to see the Red Fort, which was a fort that was red (surprisingly). Next, we went to see Ghandi's ashes! It was really fascinating, however, the locals seem more interested in taking pictures of us, which was a bit overwhelming. We must have literally had about 10 photos - #celebprobz.
Our next conquest was a rickshaw ride through the narrow streets of Delhi, however this was no ordinary rickshaw, it was a man powered tricycle with open back and sides and possibly the scariest experience of our lives. #changeofknickersneeded. The streets were narrow nd very wobbly much like our nerves. The wiring was hanging over our heads and masses of people surrounded each if our rides. We enountered many beggers but we were ready with our language skills 'bas' which means stop. #wordoftheweek
arriving in one piece at the mosque we were handed the finest of robes which we strutted in with style through the mosque along the hot slabs burning our feet.
We then arrived at the mini Taj Mahal the Mumayun tomb #duplicte which had a complex history. It wad amazing to see and really got us excited to see the real taj.
Finally, we drive past the gorgeous lotus temple, and headed home where a cold pool and an all you can eat buffet awaited us.
Having a blast. Live long and prosper. #staysassy.
Love from Ellen, Boz, Roz, Joz. Xxxxxxx
