Day 4 - last day at Sangam
Hey all, Sangam team here reporting from approximately 37,000feet on board a jet airlines flight from Pune to Delhi. Good flight so far, little bumpy but we have had a nice meal.
Today Gaynor and Sarah started the day with an early morning swim in the pool, followed by a delicious breakfast.
This morning we started the day with a session of Yoga. This was the most enjoyable and entertaining form of yoga. It was laughter yoga. This form of yoga has the easiest poses to do including phone, chilli, bill, motorbike, birthdays, fabric measuring, clapping and welcome laughter. We spent the morning laughing.
Then we had a reflection session looking at the history of Sangam and its founding members and their vision for this world centre. Sangam staff presented a short sketch to show the future of sangam and how we could consider returning to Sangam in the future.
Then team Sangam got creative in leaving their mark at Sangam. Lyndsey, Emily, Claire and Lynne created the fab log book page and a thank you card for the sangam staff. Each member of the team had a Lancashire Rose to write their name on. Wendy, Gaynor and Dawn created a snap shot of our time at Sangam. This was a paragraph about each day at the centre. Rowan, Beth, Jess, Ellen and Sarah looked at hundreds of photographs taken by the staff and had to choose their favourite 100 which we will have access to when we return home.
Our final meal at Sangam was a mixture of Indian food with curry, rice, salads and banana and custard pudding.
After lunch we hard reflection. Then Claire and Emily used their artistic flare to add some mehendi patterns to our feet. The Sangam staff had a fire alarm drill and we joined in so the staff could practice.
Then it was time to say good bye. We had our closing ceremony. We sang some songs, had a reading and we were presented with a certificate and badge to say thank you for our few days there. Lyndsey presented some awards to the team. Claire and Krys received their 5 year long service award. Michelle received her 10 Years long service and Sarah L and Lyndsey received their 20 year long service award. Well done everyone who received their awards.
The Sangam team presented the staff at Sangam with a thank you card, a Sangam challenge badge, a bottle of red wine and the log book page.
At 5pm the rickshaws arrived to take us to the airport. They all lined up outside and it looked like we were about to take part in the Pune Grand Prix!
At the airport we checked in and had a short wait before board the plane.
We have arrived safely in Delhi and have checked into our rooms. We are all sat in the bar having a cheeky drink in celebration of Lyndsey eating her first meal since Wednesday!
Signing off, night all x
