Day 9 We had a look round the Gold Fort ( Jaisalmer is Gold, the others have been red and amber) which is the only fort we have seen thus far that has been lived in by the villages. It was great to see it working with lots of people children and cows! The evening was our Camel Safari, we headed out on jeeps to the camels and rode them in to the desert, we thought it was odd with the sand storms and the wind and the clouds - I said if we were at home we would be expecting a thunder storm! And it did! A desert in which it had not rained at this time for 3 years and it rained on the night we camped! We arrived at the tents which had been blown down and the food had blown away so they took us in jeeps to a settlement with mud huts and music which we stayed in. What an experience!
