Rennes is a much nicer visit; good for a couple of days, especially if you like to run. Rennes is a big university town - 60 000 students, 200 000 permanent residents - and an old university town at that. I found guallic churches and crooked medieval taverns walking about.
As for stuff to do - there's a wonderful garden called the Plac…

Roscoff is an onion town. Seriously. There's plaques up about town how guys used to cross the channel with Roscoff onions - Jhonnies - and sell them to the English; it was the foundation for …

Well, I've been pushing myself too hard recently, and now I'm going to have to take it easy for a few days. To be honest I'm quite conflicted; my black belt test is in October now, and I need…
I did have a lovely time in Yorkshire; Jill and Michael have a wonderful house - frankly, a bed to myself would be more luxury than I'm used to; J and M put me up in the best guest bedroom an…

I think this is very insightful.... we found Germany a great place to visit but not sure I could live there. We had friends over for dinner yesterday and one of them related a story about her sister, who lived in Germany for several years. The sister got into trouble with the locals for hanging out her laundry on the wrong day. It's weird that you make rules about something as trivial as that.

Yeah, the Tent was freezing - I'm on a bunk tonight, hopefully that will be warmer. Antipesto is a bit hit and miss - found in Leipzig and Munich, but not berlin, and only overpriced in Garmisch. I'll be in the UK about the 10th - Jill's on the 12th!

The antipasti is good where ever you are I think, if you can take some time and look. As for the tent, it can be bloody freezing, I ended up with more then 6 blankets to stay warm one night... When are you heading to the UK??

*Berchtesgarten - looks cool, actually. Garmish-Patenkirchen is to the south and just a hair west of Munich... looks like out of range of a day trip, sorry :/

Hey Geoff, too bad it's wet but you seem to be managing to have a good time anyway. I was in Bavaria as a school kid - they took us to see Hitler's mountain place near Berchesgarten (spelling?) when I stayed in Austria. Sounds like museums tomorrow may be a great idea.

Jennifer, I am being literal here. I took the wrong train. I looked at the castle from the station. I nearly had to find another hotel or hedge to sleep under because the desk at my diggs had closed by the time I got to Sonthofen. I am in fact b****ing about my inability to get onto the right train and the consequences I suffered thereof.

Sounds wonderful, shame about the rain but it is fun to see areas in different weather! Hope the sun shines tomorrow so you can explore and tell us all about the great hiking....
Jenn.
umm... Stop complaining... How are you doing? The picture looks amazing, I am jealous. Also, please email mum or dad, they were inquiring about your well-being, so just drop them a one liner informing them of your status please and thank you.

Glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay with me! I was a little stressed from work, as I am sure you noticed, but it was great to see you. You are more then welcome to come again if you want, but check the dates, I am heading to a conference this weekend and then to Spain for a week a week after that.
I hope you are enjoying Praha
