Hello hello hello!
I'm still in Pai!! Not actually leaving either...only joking, I have to by Wednesday as I'm flying out on Friday, how strange!
So, the last few days have been excellent and its easy to see why people don't ever leave. Its become almost like a village where you get to know everyone and everything is so incredibly chilled and relaxed. We've been out every night and had some form of a party on each one of these nights. We went to a gathering last night and there were fire dancers and totally hippiefied people. Very amusing!!
Tomorrow our landlady, Joy, is taking a couple of us to the market and we're buying loads of food for the annual flower festival. Its huge in Chang mai and all over Thailand but Pai also does its fair share. She's then going to help us make boats out of banana leaves so that we can fill them with flowers and take them to the river to set a float. Whilst we do this we pray for the up and coming year and it should come true...excellent!! There will be more festivities Monday night so I may leave for Bangkok on Tuesday although it really will be hard to drag myself away.
Be rest assured, I have not only been out partying, I have also spent a day with three of my friends and some mopeds, riding around Pai. We visited a waterfall, which the crazy three slid down, then rode around for ages before we randomly stumbled upon a conservation area that led to some hot springs. Unfortunatly we also had to ride off road down the most horrendous dirt tracks for 5km!! Crazy!! did actually think I may fly off but it was all ok.
Its been an incredible experience here so far, can't quite believe I'm leaving so soon. Definitly reccomend Pai and if any of you come here ever, you have to stay at 'The Family House', such a good place!!!
Ok, speak soon,
Gem
