Sam is off island which means we're a member down in the a team (sarah, Ross me and Sam) and Ross has decided to learn guitar with sarah and it's like the blind leading the blind, I'm looking forward to getting Sam back so I can have a guitar free conversation! Today the weather was so crazy windy that we done a Shelduck survey and seen zero, although we managed to fly ourselves a bit like kites with jackets over our heads. We then done a nest sweep on the managed part of the island... Where we don't want the gulls nesting because they become over protective when they have chicks, so we destroyed 32 nests which sounds a lot! But you should see how many nests are the other side of te island, also in some abandoned nests were eggs, which were cold and dead so we brought them back to the farm house, blown out the yolk and we are keeping the eggs to use in a display. Ross and Sarah blew out the eggs!
Today one of the boys killed a chicken as I was looking at it! :( although there are too many here and 16 need to be killed it was a bit of a shock to see!
We stained help the wood and are waiting to out them up around the peony enclosure! And we put the posts in with the big post banging thing! Yet we end up with a wonky square enclosure! 9ftx9ftx9.5ftx8.5ft!
You work it out! :)
Today I cooked fish cakes, first time and pear a cinnamon crumble!
Some of the sheep are condemned to death (with a red spot) unless the foot rot improves) :( I also have a red spot on the arse of my waterproofs (thanks Sam). So we have to check them in the morning!
