Day two in Bangkok was as crazy as the day before. The day started off really chilled out and we slept in by accident till about 3pm. At first we were a bit annoyed as we thought we had wasted the entire day but as it turned out it was a bit of a life saver as we needed the sleep and it had rained all day in Bangkok. We decided to have another little look around the Koh San Road and we found today a lot easier adapting to the hectic pace of Bangkok as the initial culture shock had worn off. You get used to dealing with the locals trying to sell you stuff. We decided we were gonna go to Koh Phangan the next day and booked an early taxi for 6 am as we wanted to get there in the early afternoon so we can find a place to stay. We got a little bit apprehensive after meeting some other english people who basically told us we were screwed for not booking somewhere in advance. I decided it would make the whole adventure more exciting. :)
We decided due to such an early trip to the airport we would take it easy on the old chang beers that evening and get an early night...i wish we had stuck to our plans. 4 big bottles of chang beer later and we were out on a Koh San Road side bar talking to a few girls from Bedforshire where i used to live. By the way when i say side bars it means literally a guy who went down the supermarket, bout loads of booze and sold on the street at a marked up price. Might sound a bit dodgey but to be honest it is the best way and cheapest way to get smashed in Bangkok. We spent the rest of the evening getting real drunk with the bedfordshire guys and ended up in a tuk tuk ride to a ping pong show! It wasn't even our idea either...those girls were a bit insane but incredibly funny. The ping pong show was to be honest a bit of a let down and more disturbing then i anticipated...maybe i've lived a sheltered life but some of the things those girls were doing was just plain crazy! We then grabbed a taxi back where me and si stayed up all night in the irish bar drinking again after the girls had gone home as they couldn't take the pace anymore! I realised about 4am that we had to get back to the hotel to pack our backpack as we had a taxi booked and pre paid for at 6am! We got in the taxi and made our way to the airport as the sun rose over Bangkok City, don't know if it was the booze or what but the whole skyline just looked amazing! Some good tunes in the taxi too although don't think the taxi appreciated my version of Akon at 6am! haha!
