Today we drove from Tass to Tooleybuc in the river land. We are spending our last night on our holiday, and Dennis' birthday, in a very nice motel, with a view over the golf course, next to the river Murray. It's been a long drive today and we've travelled through a few changing landscapes. We've seen cattle, sheep, cereal crops and cotton fields. The cotton growers use open water Chanel delivery for flood irrigation from the murrumbidgee and the highway is lined with cotton wool balls. In the fields hundreds of cylindrical bales were brightly wrapped in yellow plastic and lined up ready for collection. We were lucky to spot an emu with two chicks feeding on the side of the road. The roads seemed to be dominated by trucks today, with plenty of wide loads, carrying buildings and huge farm equipment, it's just lucky we are on N. S. W. roads where there are verges and not Qld roads where a ditch starts next to the bitumen. As I hear snoring next to me I will bring this blog to a close.
