Hi Jean. it does sound as if your new rooms are quite luxurious compared to the last school. I do hope that all works out with the teaching there and I shall be interested to hear about your trips away at weekends. I like the idea of a geography lesson come to life! Take Care

Hi Jean I have just got back from a very successful cricket club lunch. Everybody was asking after you and they all send their love. It is always nice when someone new turns up and this year it was Tom Scanlan. I don't know if you will remember him . Obviously after 40 years he looked a bit different, bald now with a little more weight . He used to have a mass of hair and was as skinney as a rake. Still he was probably saying the same about me. Another new one was Eva , Bob Hursts wife, but it is not so long since we saw her. The menu was very good ,duck salad , Salmon en croute and a strawberry thing. New caterers I think.
I have just read your latest blog . I am glad you have got to see the Temples of the Sun and Moon. We found them fascinating. I bet you were overjoyed to get a bath after all that time
Well it's not too long until you are home again . Can't wait to see you and hear all about your adventures and look at all your pictures.
Take care L Gill X X Don and Roger send their love as well and of course Dibs. He has really been very good this visit. They leave tomorrow

Good morning Jean,
Wimbledon is hot. Very hot!
Many thanks for your latest blog. What wonders you are seeing and the jungle trip sounded fantastic, but not for the squeamish, what about the leeches and other crawlies? You will be so tough when you get back, Surrey is going to seem very trame!
We have written down the date you get arrive back - what a shame Ann could not get tickets for the Handel evening at the Proms. It's their most popular concert.
When you get back - I don't know where you are planning to live, but you know you are always welcome to stay here for as long as you like.
We have just returned from a trip up "North", mainly to walk along Hadrian's Wallfor a bit (very samall bit - about six paces!). We also visited Castle Howard, Alwick |Castle, Harewood House and Cragside. Not quite Inca remains, but even so very impressive. Where did they get all that money from? We also took in York and the Minster, Durham Cathedral, both amazing achievements - and also the "Angel of the North". Finally, a few days in the Lake Disrtrict.
We went to Wimbledon on Monday ( and Roger went on Tuesday as well!) . Impressed with Roddick, but Murray struggled on Monday, but improved yeasterday. He is under a lot of media pressure to reach the final, and if he does everyone will "expect" him to win. It is a tough call.
In May, we had a 70th birthday party in Rachel's garden, when it blew a gale through a borrowed gazebo. But with many ripping sounds, we had a good time. We sdaly missed you and Peter (we also missed Roger, but tht's another storey!).
Look forward to hearing more from you and to seeing you in August when you return. Paula and Ben's baby is due on 12th August. Rachel is also expecting again - around Christmas time!
Lots of love fronm us both,
Ann and Roger

Hello Jean!
Have really been enjoying your blogs and feeling quite jealous. All those tales of Peru have certainly brought back some memories! You really don't know what mountains are until you see the Andes, do you!I quite understand how sad you will be to leave Cusco, but am sure you will find that Arequipa has its own charm.
As for the school experience - it sounds just the same as in the Gambia! Really frustrating, isn't it?!
I expect you are looking forward to seeing those lovely grandchildren of ours again. They are coming to stay with me this weekend and have agreed to come to Legoland (although I know you have taken them before).
It is currently very hot here at the moment - 29 degrees today, so let's hope the good weather stays for your return.
Glad you are finding good travelling companions - it certainly adds to the enjoyment. Enjoy your last weeks before your visit home!
With love from Linda
