I'm quite shocked to tell you the truth. Two reasons. Firstly, Prague. I've always heard Prague's great for a drink and whatever but what a city. The place is stunning. Tbh the first night I got there I meant to have a look around and instead just fell asleep. So next day I got up and walk down to Old Town Square. It looks really nice is the first thing to note. It turned out however to also be Prague fashion weekend. There was a catwalk set up in the street. Let's be honest here, the only thing I learnt from this is a fashion show is just a bunch of painfully underfed women in s**t clothes walking back and fore. One did trip though which was rather funny. Right, back to Prague. I went on a free walking tour, the hiostory of this place and the beauty are both unbelievable. The most interesting place to me was a Jewish Synagogue which I shall tell you about later. That night went on a pub crawl, it was ok and I met a couple of people that I might meet up with in Rome if they get things sorted (they had their stuff robbed).
Next day, got up and walked across Charles Bridge and up to the castle, which really doesn't look like a castle but apparently is, it just got tarted up about 300 years ago. Now, the Synagogue. You might be thinking why a Synagogue? Well, the Czech Republic was taken over by the German's during World War 2. And in this Synagogue are drawings that were done by the children living in Terezin Concentration Camp. Most of these children were sadly taken away to Auschwitz to be killed but before they were their teacher saved the drawings in 2 trun ks and buried for them to be dug up later. The teacher also sadly lost her life. These drawings, some better than others but all as touching as the next, show life inside the camp, outside the camp and also what the children dreamed of once again being able to do. To me this was a very important thing to see.
So that night I just stayed in and then headed to the station the next day. An unbelievable thing happened in this station. I bought 2 books. That's right 2 BOOKS. What's even more unbelievable is that these books are not comics, or colouring in books but actual books you can read. Even more unbelievable still is that the 2 books are Harry Potter and the Philposopher's Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Shocking I know.
Now to the second reason I'm shocked. I haven't really seen Vienna yet but my first impressions are not what I expected. My first impressions were actually that this is the most intimidating place I've been. No-one has been bothered or anything. It's justz the sheer amount of skinheads. Ah well, sightseeing tomorrow, woop woop.
I think I've bored you enough now so until the next time everybody be well, I guess being half way through now I shall see you all soon. And as I am in Austria I think it only right to sign off with so long, farewell, Auf wiedersehen, adieu
