SOUTH AFRICA
So the beginning of my travels was a road trip to Namibia, which is located northwest of South Africa with Ian, Nataliya, Rosa, and Jen the Ren, Super Jen, the Best Jen, Green Power Ranger Jen. It's the best road trip I've ever had but also a long journey!
We kept prolonging the trip but we eventually left in the afternoon not knowing exactly where we were going. A few things happened along the way to Namibia, we smuggled a car, we rented a car but we needed a permit to cross the border which we didn't have, but somehow Ian worked his charm and got us across. We also stayed at a lodge right across the border in Namibia which had brown water in the toilets, tap water, and showers. Beautiful. The first day of travel took us 10 hours and the second day took us 7 hours to reach our final destination in Swakop, which has the largest sand dunes in the world. This was where we went quad-biking twice during our stay, all I have to say is 'ugh-mazing'. I drove on a manual bike which is awesome cuz the tour guide said you needed experience to ride the manuals and I winged it and aced it by the end of the day, wicked. You circle in these huge dune bowls going around and up and down which is amazing, jetting down these near vertical slopes at 140 km/h.
The group was also suppose to go sandboarding too but winds were too high so we weren't able to go. Instead, we went quad-biking twice, hit up some bars, and just enjoyed our time there. We also stalked Brad and Angelina and actually saw the doubles and the house where they were staying. Rosa and Ian saw Maddox running around in the house and the pictures from the magazines looked exactly like the ones we took, I will post them later.
On the way back, we almost ran out of petrol which is a no-no but common thing to occur. Petrol stations are far and few between and all of our cell phones didn't work since we all had South Africa networks, and not Namibians. Ian and I were suppose to go sandboarding too but winds were too high so we weren't able to go.
