Hello again,
So now we are in beautiful Lisboa finally after what seemed like a long bus ride. Our trip to Praia de Luz made us too late to catch the train so we had to bus it if we were going to stick to our rough schedule and budget. Again it was really cheap so no probs there.
We arrived just after midnight and had no accommodation-despite how beautiful the city looked from the bus we didnt really feel like sleeping on the streets so we tried calling some hostels but when they were full or didnt speak english we gave up and headed for the hotel strip. Thinking that we were going to have to pay a riduculous amount of money at the novotel we were sooooooooooo happy when we found an absolute steal for less than half the price of the novotel at the opposite ibis hotel. It was an absolute bargain and only over budget by like 10?. So happy to have a (great) room we had a fairly early night as we had to make the most of our one day in lisbon. Had the time to get the barman to make us some cheese (and ham for some) toasties.
Again after a great night of english tv we woke up ready for some heavy sightseeing. Seeing Lisboa by day was not a dissapointment from how pretty it looked at night. We started off by heading to the train station to book our train to Paris for later in the afternoon. Unfortunately they didnt have any beds left so we have to face 22 hours in our seats which isnt great. Oh well...plus they dont have any tickets from the border station into Paris which is lame but we will risk it and try and get one from the station. If not its near San Sebastian so we can visit there.
We then started looking for this vegetarian fast food place which was supposed to have a great view of the city for breakfast which the lonely planet recommended. It did have a great view but it wasnt really all that vego anymore luckily for ben. We had pizza for breakfast haha and took some pictures of the nice view.
We then stumbled across the international street entertainers festival and had to watch a few of them perform. Pretty good really. We then did a bit of window shopping before finding the main square and main street. Many many photos later we decided to buy tshirts because we had been seeing these awesome lisboa tshirts on people all over spain and wanted them. Unfortunately then it was time to catch the long long long train to Paris. However more from Paris on another occasion because the keyboard here is just so lame with all sorts of accents everywhere and letters in random spots.
Time to send us some goss from back home yes?
Xoxoxoxo
