Well hello... Phi Phi feels like ages ago and was basically a blur of drink, partying and visa drama but I'll try and peace it all together and tell you the highlights! Getting there took ages from Laos. We left Vientiane and got an overnight train to Bangkok and arrived so early in the morning we didn't really know what to do with ourselves. So we went and had brekkie in an amazing hotel and took a peek at their rooftop view over Bangkok which was pretty cool....

So Louise arrived safe and sound - hurrah! And we were so looking forward to starting our trek in Chiang Mai but first we had a day spare to look round the city and go and see (even more) temples! Day 1 We arrived really early off the sleeper train and as soon as we stepped foot on the platform we were bombarded with people from guest houses trying to get us to go with them. Kelly met a woman who claimed to have a nice place near the city walls with a pool etc ...
