I can't believe the first leg of our trip is already over and we are leaving for Cairns in less than 3 hours! Hopefully the weather will be better there...
It has been downpouring and very windy during our stay in Sydney. It seemed like a monsoon was flying through and the waves at Bondi and Coogee beaches were trecherous, they were probably topping off at 10-15 feet high. They are expecting rain for 5 straight days, but the locals say it is needed. Everything here is very American like and it doesn't even seem like we are in a different country!
We took a tour bus that stopped at all of our top destinations we wanted to see. The Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge area is amazing! Definately the highlight of the trip so far. Some of the other things were saw were the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the Sydney Aquarium, a famous church, and the Chinese Gardens. The skyline of Sydney is beautiful and unfourtanetly the Sydney Sky Tower was down for repairs so we couldn't go up and see the skyline. It was the first time ever they had to close for repairs, go figure it happens when I am here!
Before we even left for Australia we toured a bit of San Francisco. We went to the Golden Gate Bridge and the Fisherman's Wharf area. SF is awesome and the architecture is very Mexican looking.
I'm looking forward to Cairns and the nicer weather! It will be nice to get out and do some outdoor activities!
