The final 2 days in Cairns were a blast.
On Monday we went white water rafting down the Tully River in northern Queensland. It was my first time doing it and it went alot better than I thought. I definitely would do it again in a hearbeat!
We mainly were in grade 2 & 3 rapids (the highest being 4) down the river and ended right before the area of the river the crocodiles inhabit. We got to swim down a grade 2 current which was kinda scary. It was hard to breate and there were constantly rapids coming. We also got to slide down a rock and go down a waterfall.
Today we went up to the Daintree Rainforest and the village of Cape Tribulation. The rainforest was not what I was expecting and was actually kinda boring. It was just alot of trees and not much wildlife, like I was expecting.
We also stopped at a wildlife zoo where we saw crocodiles, a bunch of different birds, and got to pet a very friendly kangaroo! I'm surprised we made it home safely though as our driver, Coral, was out of control. We were pretty much on 2 wheels for half of the turns down the mountain, and it was mainly all turns.
We wrapped up our day on cruise down the Daintree River spotting for crocodiles, birds, and snakes. We saw about 6 crocs, 2 snakes, and bunch of exotic endangered birds.
We are off for Brisbane at 6AM so tomorrow should be a long day. We don't really have any plans yet for our 2 days in Brisbane but will hit up a rugby or soccer game if available!
