Day 30

I'm a month in now and have really settled in. I'd even go as far as to say I'm enjoying it. There is a slight problem though; there are only so many worthy conversations about volunteering a girl can have. So I've been stopping strangers on the street asking "do you think I should have my fringe cut back in?" , " can you believe that Hollyoaks cad on Strictly - saying all those lovely thngs about his girlfriend whilst doing the horizontal tango with that upside down faced bit from down under?" , "Isn't it sad that Logan went out of Project Runway? He had such a lovely face and seemed like a genuinely nice person". I know I shouldn't admit it but I am missing my sad, superficial ways and have been desperately on the look out for other shallow people but I just don't think there are any here. Someone gave me a dog-eared copy of Australian Women's Weekly, September edition & I swear I came in my pants. I did hear the Michael Buble single while I was having dinner last week, which was a nice little treat.

There isn't really that much to do in Siem Reap at the weekends once you've seen the Temples at Angkor & had a lymphatic drainage massage, so last weekend I took myself off on a little overnight trip. To Battambong (does it remind anyone else of the art gallery Fonejacker??), Cambodia's 2nd largest city. After 6 and a half bum numbing hours on the boat, there was just enough time for a quick squizz round the city, a trip to the circus - fit acrobats but disconcerting strong sexual theme - and a warm glass of wine before an early night & even earlier bus back.

Whilst wandering the streets of Battenbong, I did happen across the headquarters of the "Maddox Jolie Pitt Foundation" and it did get me thinking.. maybe one day there will be a "Ping Ping Pestell Buble Foundation" next door...
