So after a couple of days we headed over to the Argentinian side, a small town called Puerto Iguazu, to check out the Iguaçu falls from their side..luckily we got out of Brasil and into Argentina with no problems.
We reserved a room at the Hostel Inn and when we got there we were shocked. It is so nice, better than a lot of hotels I have been too. Not only this but we had our own private bathroom, which was a real luxury! The staff are very friendly and helpful, there is a huge pool surrounded by deck chairs, a restaurant in-house and night entertainment for the night we checked in. So, if you are going to see Iguaçu falls stay on the Argentinian side and stay at Hostel Inn.
The night entertainment was good fun and included a bbq dinner and muchas alcohol all for less than 6 quid. I was picked on by the lead guy as one of the guys to come up on the stage and have this women, in not much else than a thong, prance around in front of us while we were told to chant "toot toot toot doo doo toot toot toot"...it was really good fun and again a surprise for a Hostel to provide an entertainment night.
We spent a day seeing the falls from this side and did a few hours of tours. We were taken through the jungle via this army truck thing, which was ok, and then taken on a speed boat around the base of the falls to get a really good close-up of them and were then, literally, reversed under these waterfalls. It was an incredible experience and we all got absolutely drenched. The rest of the day we wondered the many trails this parque nacional had.
So we have covered the Iguaçu falls good and proper and I don´t want to see another waterfall for a while. It was so worth it though, highly recommend everyone go visit.
