Where do I begin to try to write about the last 2 weeks? We have lived in the garage and tried to be calm and patient as the very nice people seem to have a rather 'mañana ' attitude . The part was 3 days later than scheduled and then the accompanying bits didn't come fri as promised or even sat but not until Tuesday evening. We have been on a roller coaster of emotion and it is only today that I can write without being too despairing as there is light at the end of the tunnel and we could be finished by tomorrow. This of course depends on the fault having been sorted. We have the bill to worry about now!!!!!! Goodness knows what it will amount to.
We have spent 4 days going out and we visited the city and the lovely wooded area. We even went to the zoo and enjoyed it. It is difficult not to be touched by the staff at the garage who have brought us gifts and are so so kind. Antonio the boss took us out for a wonderful meal and has done his best to get the outside agencies involved to speed up . We have passed the time doing crosswords, reading and taking a daily jaunt down to the walmart store which is about 20 minutes walk away.
Guajimalpa is a large town and the roads are constantly heaving with traffic day and night. The road in front of the garage is fast and crowded with heavy trucks which thunder past. It is a quite steep hill that drops to the city and into the smog which is ever-present.
We feel rather cocooned here and normal life seems to have been suspended for the time being. One more night here???? We will have to wait and see!!!!!!!
