From Bangkok To LA
Hello Everybogey
Sorry its been a while but we have been very busy, and the nearest internet cafe is a fair distance away. But here we go...
Last time we spoke I was telling you lot about a little boat trip we were going to do. Got up nice and early, bout 8, and got to the meeting point. Made our way down the coast in a little mini bus, every1 was cool, met two folks from Iceland. Loaded up the boat and then set sail. Had to get out of this river mouth but all hte waves were coming in making it very difficult (Bex was scared as per). Got out no worries and made our way over to the rocks to snorkel. But then the skipper, Lee, said he just saw a whale so we went out further to try and catch it. We couldnt see anything at first, but then it just leapt right out of the water. Was the best thing I have ever seen!No joke!He said it wasjust a baby, only two weeks old, but it was still longer than our boat. We followed him for a bit, then all off a sudden his mum came up alongside us to check us out. I tried my best to get some good photos, you will just have to judge for yourselves as to whether they are any good. We just watched in awe for ten minutes or so then headed back to the rocks.
Got geared up ready for the snorkel, Bex put on about three wetsuits just to make sure she didnt get cold. I was the only one without one so all I got was a wetvest, bit rubbish to be honest but never mind. The water wasnt too bad and we saw some amazing looking fish. Also got up close and personal with both a leopard and nurse shark. Luckily they dont eat people. Some of the others saw a manta ray as well. Then on the way back to the boat some1 spotted a sea turtle. Me and bex went over and I stayed with him for ages. He came up for water right next to me and let me stroke him. Amazing! We then got back in the boatandhad some lunch. Saw some dolphins in the distance, but not many about at the moment. Guess why?Because there are four false killer whales in the bay who like to eat dolphins! We saw them in the distance, they had huge dorsal fins. They are like killer whales only are all black rahter than having the white markings. Then we headed back in to port. Fantastic day!
Next day Bex wanted to just chill on the beach so we headed down there bout ten or half past. Got all set up then a border collie came over to us wanting to play. We couldnt see his owner anywhere and he kept wanting Bex to throw a stone for him. I wasnt happy as he kept getting sand all over my towel. I told her to leave him alone so he would go back to his owner, but she was havin none of it. He lied down next to us and stayed for about an hour. His owner finally turned up, probably thinking some1 had stolen his dog, and took him away. Bex wasnt too happy! That was about it for that day, apart from goin for an all you can eat mexican for dinner.Very tasty.
Next day hadto wait until three to get picked up, so we were gonna go to the cinema to see X-Men 3. But was only showing at half nine, in the morning. Sorry Phil ;) Got picked up and then made our way to our swanky new digs the Raddisson Resort Gold Coast. Thankyou the Perrys :) Anyone who wants to look at where poor old Bex and me are staying here is the website http://www.radisson.com/goldcoastau . Hope your not too jealous. Anyway all the photos are now on, sorry to keep you waiting. Will have some special underwater pictures on soon as well hopefully, of the turtle and stuff. Best be off gonna get some dinner. Loads of love frank and bex
