From Bangkok To LA
Easy folks, hows it going?
We are now in Byron Bay, which seems to be party central, and the place where everyone heads if they are a backpacker.
Arrived yesterday after getting up at six in the morning to leave Coffs Harbour. Got to Byron at twelvish and headed for the camp site. Right next to the beach which is huge. Roasting yesterday but sun goes down at bout five or half past so after putting up the tent not much time for sun bathing. Went and did some shopping instead. Got a five litre box of rose wine for about a fiver so not too bad!
Stopped off to get some leaflets bout the Whitsundays, then headed back to camp. Made dinner, played cards had some wine then fell asleep about half nine.
Woke up this morning was absolutely boiling in the tent, so got up and made some brekky.
Bex wanted to sunbathe but it was slightly cloudy so we went and did Captain Cooks nature walk instead. Clouds disappeared as soon as we started, so great conditions for an uphill walk.
It was around Cape Byron which is the best place, on land, in Oz to see hump back whales. We got to the top and everyone was looking out for them. I think I was one, but was really far out so no good for taking pics. Hopefully get some tmoz as we are off on a snorkelling trip that includes dolphin spotting (there are loads in the bay), snorkelling at Julian Rocks and then heading over to Cape Byron in the boat to try and see some whales. Hopefully will be a successful trip, with loads of photos.
Will try and get them on tomorow, loads on the camera.
Also just booked a six night trip. Sailing for three days in the Whitsundays, 4wd safari on Fraser Island, and two nights in Hervey Bay, so that should be good.
Off now try and catch some rays at last.
Hope every1 is ok. Frank and Bex
